
The Last of Us Part II has been delayed indefinitely. Naughty Dog has said on twitter that the team is hard at work on the game while the whole development team has been working at home in isolation due to quarantine. Luckily, people who have already ordered the game will be receiving refunds for their purchases from Sony because of this delay.
Neil Druckman has said on Twitter that the company is working hard to get the game released as soon as possible. The development team is hard at work squashing bugs and giving the game that "Naughty Dog polish"
There has been a vast number of productions delays caused by Covid-19. The video game industry alongside the film industry will not escape unscathed. We have seen delays in Marvel productions, and even Star Wars has been hit by this. Video game wise. Final Fantasy VII Remake and Resident Evil 3 have been thrown into the blender. Final Fantasy VII Remake had to ship early, which cased most of the games secrets to leak online, ruining the game for many people who had not played the game yet.
We have no idea when things will return to normalcy but we sure hope it is soon. The entertainment industry will eventually recover but we have no idea when that will be. The lack of any release window for The Last of Us Part II has fans concerned that the game may never come or might not release anytime soon. Naughty Dog and Sony have both said they are working as hard as they can to release the game as soon as they can but with the safety of their employees as their number one priority who knows when they will finally be ready to ship.
