The 'Cassian Andor' Series was Six Weeks Into Pre-Production Before Production

We all have been hearing day after day that one thing after another has been shut down, delayed, or cancelled over the last month while we deal with this virus that has effected every part of our lives. According to Neal Scanlan in a interview with ComicBookMovie.com, the cassian Andor movie had undergone six weeks of pre-production before everything was shut down due to the coronavirus. There have been reports saying that the series was still in the script phase but according to this new information we now know that the series was much further along.

Originally, we were hoping to move into a few TV series, The Mandalorian had obviously already started and has done incredibly well, it’s brilliant piece of work. We were here in the U.K. about to start on a couple of shows ourselves, but they all unfortunately got bumped. We just literally started about six weeks ago on the Cassian story until unfortunately the virus hit and we’re now all on lockdown. So, we’re trying to do the best we can from home.
What is interesting about this is that they said "a few TV series" which is interesting. This means that they might be working hand in hand on multiple Star Wars shows at the same time, and this means that we might have gotten a few shows announced at this years Star Wars Celebration. As of right now, Celebration is slated to happen August 27-30, in Anaheim California. We have speculated with all events getting shuffled around Celebration will either be rescheduled for 2021 or later this year in 2020. Things are too up in the air to say for certain but we do expect that Celebration will be moved and since we have had many things that have been scheduled for August moved I suspect that Celebration will be next.

Recently, we have heard news that Ahsoka will be in 'The Mandalorian season 2, and thanks for to Reports about the casting of Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka in The Mandalorian she will most likely be in multiple series in the next few years. We can't wait to see what happens in the coming weeks and what the eventual Cassian series will look like once the shutdown ends and Lucasfilm resumes production.
