It has been nearly a decade since Tron: Legacy hit theaters all the way back in 2010, but reports now show that a new Tron project is in the works. Plans for a sequel to Tron: Legacy was shelved after it did not perform as well as predicted at the box-office, and after Tomorrowland, another live-action Disney movie bombed. We all thought that the project was dead but now according to reports from The Disinsider the Jared Leto lead sequel is now looking for a director.
"the film is expected to be more of Tron sequel rather than a reboot, and the cast from Tron: Legacy could return. It is unknown at this time if the film will follow the same story as the canceled third Tron film, Tron: Ascension, which would have seen the machine world of The Grid invade the real world. That was also rumored to have featured a character called Ares."Source: CinemaBlend
