The Mandalorian, or "The Baby Yoda Show" as I am sure some viewers may call it, has depicted a lot of memorable moments for The Child. His introduction alone was a mindblowing reveal that was totally unexpected by viewers on day one of the series. Since then, we have seen him eat a frog, Frog Lady's eggs, and now some "space macarons."
For context, the latter event can be seen in the most recent episode, "Chapter 12: The Siege." In that episode, Din Djarin and The Child return to Nevarro, where they reunite with Greef Karga and Cara Dune. What we find out is that the town that was once just another wretched hive of scum and villainy has become a better, reformed place. It has become so peaceful that there is even a school where we see some children taught about the inner workings of the galaxy and the government that is the New Republic. Within the classroom scene, The Child notices a kid with some macarons on the desk. The student is reluctant to share, but this does not hinder The Child. After all, he has the power of the Force on his side, so he just uses that to obtain a tasty snack. (And he later vomits some of it when Din Djarin carries him via jetpack).
This French dessert is a very rewarding one. This Wookiee is Chewie- I mean, this cookie is chewie at the center and crunchy all around. Are you curious about how you might be able to obtain them? Well, then you have come to the right place. Rather than steal these macarons as The Child does, you can purchase them from Williams Sonoma, a retail company. They have these macarons priced at $49.95 per dozen. That may seem like a high price, so hopefully these will be tasty enough to justify the price.
If you are willing to spend that much money, or an even higher amount, then you can buy them from Ladurée. On the macarons section of their website, they have a couple choices of boxes that each come with a dozen macarons for $45.50. There are also a couple choices of boxes that carry two dozen macaroons each, priced at $78.50. If you want to go halfway, a box of 18 macarons would cost $62. If you want as many as 42 macarons, be prepared to spend $155 for such a box.
Alternatively, you could take a stab at making macarons yourself. Just follow all of the steps that are included in this recipe. Just keep it out of any toddlers whom you would not want to take all of them. Make enough for yourself, or make enough for you to share with others! The Mandalorian feels like comfort food at times, so it is only natural that it would inspire people to try out this dessert as comfort food. Some people may have their popcorn, but let us not dismiss macarons as an option for something to snack on while watching the series.
