In that film, the late Obi-Wan Kenobi says that Luke Skywalker is the galaxy's last hope, and yet, according to Yoda, “there is another.” Many have assumed this to be Leia, Luke's sister, given Kenobi's confirmation in Return of the Jedi. This is even supported by the From a Certain Point of View books, in which Yoda believes Leia to be the Chosen One (something that George Lucas considered playing around with at some point while developing ideas for the sequel trilogy).
However, it would not be surprising if the character Yoda was referring to turns out to be someone else, given that Star Wars is no stranger to retconning previously established information, and Kenobi is known for keeping secrets. In a Reddit post by bacontornado, it is theorized that this person is instead Ahsoka Tano, the former apprentice of Anakin Skywalker who made it out of the Clone Wars alive. Now, even though Ahsoka Tano was not even created at the time that the original trilogy was made, it makes sense canonically that she could be the person Yoda was referring to, considering the fact that Ahsoka Tano is still around after the events of the original trilogy, and is featured in The Mandalorian. Ahsoka Tano is, without a doubt, far more powerful than Leia could ever be, and has proven her courage, leadership skills, and power many times throughout her onscreen development. It would be quite satisfying to know if Ahsoka Tano was the person Yoda was referring to, even if it doesn't ultimately change anything since Luke did not fail, Rey did not fail, and the galaxy was saved anyway.
There is another person that Yoda could have been referring to, though, and that is The Child, the baby of Yoda's species that is also featured in The Mandalorian whose name was recently revealed to be Grogu. It is not currently known where The Child came from or if there is any connection between him and Yoda, but it could be plausible that Yoda knew about The Child and was referring to him as a backup plan. Naturally, as we all know, Emperor Palpatine was dealt with, so if The Child's “destiny” was to take care of the evil Sith Lord, that will not happen now, and only time will tell what role The Child has to play in the future of the Star Wars universe.
